Parvathy, a last year college student of the Kollam SN College, took the most crucial choice of her life when her good friends and cousins started to tease her. But it was her deteriorating health which triggered Parvathy to do something about her body weight. She used up the obstacle to lower her body weight considerably, by December in 2015.

“I had a thin body when I was a kid. But I became over weight as a teenager due to hormone problems. My friends used to mock me about my weight. It didn’t stop at college either. They were good at mocking without making me feel bad. My face too looked aged as I was overweight. So, sometimes they called me Paru ‘ammachi’ (grandmother). Besides, I suffered from hormone imbalances, pimple break outs, skin problems and irregular periods due to the condition called PCOD. I realized that reducing my body weight was the only remedy for all these. That is how I decided to shed weight by working so hard,” states Parvathy. However, the child had no concept how to prepare her weight loss routine. It was her good friends who cautioned that her health might get even more impacted if she chooses to quit food. She didn’t have the monetary capability to exercise at a health club either. As Parvathy remains at the college hostel, she didn’t have any other option however to consume the food supplied at the mess.

Parvathy discovered Habib’s weight loss obstacle online when she had no idea how to prepare her own weight loss obstacle. She ended up being a member of his Facebook group in August in 2015. “I weighed 68 kilos at that time. My aim was to reduce at least 15 kilos. Reading the instructions in the group, I was confused initially. But my friends who mocked me earlier came for my help. The diet which I couldn’t follow at the hostel were cooked at their homes and packed for me. I was overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and support. I worked out at the hostel itself. I completely avoided eating rice. I had rice just once or twice in a month, only when I felt like eating it. I bought green gram and gave to my friends who brought it cooked from their homes. Oats was my main food. In the beginning I had oats by soaking it in hot water. Later I bought a kettle. I ate oats along with a thoran (stir fry) in the morning. Boiled green grams, stir fry and fish were my lunch. I ate oats as evening snack as well. For dinner, I had carrots, onions and cucumber salad and fish. Fish was served for two meals at the hostel. That is why I was able to eat fish for lunch and dinner,” describes Parvathy.

Parvathy states that obvious modifications were taking place in her body simply 2 weeks after she started exercising and following stringent diet plan. She was anxious whether her face would look exhausted due to the weight loss. However, she ended up being delighted when she understood that just undesirable fat was getting lowered. Parvathy states, “I felt extreme happiness when my periods became regular. From extra large, my dress size gradually dropped to large and then to medium. My body became fit as it got rid of the unwanted fat. I, who found it difficult to climb even a single flight of steps can, now, easily climb up to 8 floors. I was able to shed 10 kg in just 6 months and I need to reduce 5 more kilos. I am working hard for that.”

Parvathy smiles when her cousins compliment that she is the fittest amongst all of them. In reality, none might think her unbelievable modification. From Paru ‘ammachi’, she has now become their preferred Paru ‘kutty’ (youngster). It was her daddy who inspired her the most when she chose to lower weight. Though her mom was stressed over her over weight, she asked Parvathy to quit working out when her body and face began to get thinner. “For me, my health is what matters the most. Along with my over weight, my health problems too had vanished. Like everyone else, I too am very happy about it,” concludes Parvathy.
