Want to get healthy and lose some weight

You should go see Michelle Goff.

The Mount Annan resident has just been named the number one Weight Watchers coach in NSW.

She has been part of the weight loss organisation for about two years and coaches three classes a week, including in Campbelltown.

Ms Goff said it was a shock to take out the title.

“Firstly I was named a Diamond Wellness Coach, which 12 people received,” she said. “But then to be named best in the state was unbelievable – out of all the nominees they chose me.

Ms Goff decided to get her health on track after a family holiday a few years ago.

She said there was a photo of herself and her son which cemented in her a desire to change her life.

“My son looked so happy and I was smiling but the person I saw in the photo was not the person that I felt inside,” she said.

“I’d tried Weight Watchers before but I was never in the right mindset to make a difference.

“This time I was dedicated and committed.”

Ms Goff said she lost about 16 kilograms and the face she saw in the mirror now more closely resembled the person she was inside.

She said there were no special special tricks to losing weight – just the right attitude.

“A lot of people give it a go and it doesn’t work out,” she said.

“But we can only give you the tools you need – it’s up to you to use them.

“You need to be at that stage where you’re really dedicated and ready to say ‘enough is enough’.

“There are always going to be setbacks, but it’s about how you move on from them.”

Ms Goff said she sees roughly 60 clients a week – about 20 in each of her three sessions.

She holds meetings at Campbelltown Arts Centre on Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings, and Mount Annan Leisure Centre on Tuesday mornings.
